A few more suiseki candidates

I often see weathered plates of quartz when I'm sniffing around for gemstones. During early tin and gold mining days they got pumped from alluvial deposits and discarded. The whiter ones often remind me of snow capped mountain ranges. They sport a warty patina that makes them look justifiably very old. I plan to carve wooden bases for them eventually.

That's a great idea regwac! I have lapidary saws, drill, carving, grinding and polishing gear but it never occured to me to make the bases from stone. Avoiding lacquer finishes appeals to me.
