Hi ,

I wish to eventually export Bonsai and Succulent across Australia as a little side hobby/income, Maybe in a few years time once i have had classes and have a good collection of plants going.

I have been trying to research about quarantine and how to make sure i dont run into any problems.

Has anyone got any info that may be of use.

Thankyou in advance :D

Tasmania and Western Australia have strict quarantine laws so it will not be easy, if at all possible.

I had to jump though hoops and over fences, to take a tree from WA to Adelaide for 5 days then bring it back.

How ever give it a try.

Cheers Pup

You can drive all over Australia in your 4WD and bring as much dirt and mud and plant matter back with you into WA and Tas as you like, no questions asked, but if you try to bring a manicured bonsai in thats been treated for pests and grows in sterilised soil then lookout.

Every year millions of birds migrate to Australia but if you got caught by customs bringing in a feather from one of those birds you'd get in the shari.

You can have a bureaucracy or you can have common sense, you cannot have both, they cannot exist in the same Universe.
