Granite muncher

One of the components of most bonsai mixes is crushed granite.
I saw this vid this morning and thought " Thats cool", Wonder if everyone else knows how we get small grades of soil our componnents.

G'day Ken,
interesting web-surfing there... Having worked at mining Labs (because I can lift heavy things) we used a variety of these - but thru safety, you can get no where near the opening maw! Now-a-days they keep these out at the actual mine site as rocks can and do jump out and hurt people...
First thing I thought is "He's
NOT going to stick the camera over the top of the jaw!" and he did

... funny how we've grown up with this ueber-safety life style ...
Interesting to see it in action, tho!

Wow! Those are some big fly wheels turning the crank. It would be making a lot of pressure at face to crack granite like that. There is no way I would put my head over the opening (It's not that valuable but I like it where it is

)

Yes the Workplace Health and Safety aspect of the video is horrifying!
but it is cool to see it all in its naked glory
