Following on from the viewtopic.php?f=106&t=19852 thread showing the Aussie Boabs, I thought I'd share a few photos of large Boab trees in Burkina Faso (West Africa). I took these photos on a work trip I made a couple of months ago. Apologies for the quality as they were taken out the window of a moving car. Note the car for scale in one of the photos.

I'm not sure of the age of these trees but I would imagine the bigger ones would be several hundred years old.

All that dust you can see is a trade wind called the Harmatan which blows off the Sahara...gives a new meaning to "dry season". Apparently in the wet season the grass grows up to head height!
