Very interesting video for a few reasons.
shows that with knowledge you can treat Juniper quite hard

He shows that he was very confident where the live veins that remained were and that he could rip off the ones not needed. This includes the roots that feed that section of bark and branches ( that were Jinned).

Note that he did not touch the remaining roots at all, Just shoved them into a new pot with no soil!
he then pressed in some Akadama of 2 different sizes by the look of the different bags.
I would have let it recover in a smaller pot than the original for a year then potted up, but shows what can be done!

Also note that when he bent the branches, he applied a twist to them as well. I believe this is to stop the wire pulling away from the bend and to help stop the bark from separating from the wood.

The opening scene was nothing short of a snuff film.

It looked well planned--it is also possible he had another thirty similar repots to do that day

Cool tree design from alot of cut back then turned into a tree....if only I can do that well.
Currently 21 and like Brian Bennett of Bonsai Art said, I'm still young and alot to learn.

Great video, thanks for sharing. My thoughts:

* Quick work, but I would bet he either planned it in advance, or has just done SOOO many that it's automatic at this point.
* Knowing how far you can push is the key. I would bet the guy not only has tons of experience, but tons of trees too, so that even if one doesn't make it, it's not a problem.
* Are those wire cutters he is using for everything from jin creation to tie-down wire twisting?
* This video is relatable - it's the kind of tree just about anyone can afford to buy. I love seeing the Kokufu photos, ancient yamadori, and big-name demos as much as anyone, but seeing price tags on some of those trees reminds me that I'm in another (much lower) league.

Also, this reminds me that it's about time for one of my small twisty junis to get some love. Of course it will take much longer, and not look as good at the end, but I better get stuck in anyway.

I think I saw him use a pair of Jinning pliers to twist the wire used to tie the tree in.
