Thank you for the pictures. I like the Port Jackson Fig -- the long arial roots are very interesting. There must great effort to keep them going.

Mine are usually burnt off during the summer.

They need the humidity to stay alive. One of our members puts them in beer bottles filled with water and hangs them in the tree. You can also wrap them in cloth the end of which is placed in a bowl of water placed on the soil or bench. Once the roots are long enough to reach the soil, you plant them and they'll take moisture and nutrients from that and won't dry out.

Hi Daviet,

I place the areial roots in a straw and water normally and usually by the end of summer they have grown about 5-10cm. If you cut the straw lenght ways it is very easy to remove them when the root has reached the soil.
