Just a general question regarding flowering plants like cherry.
If the leaf itself curls, turns brown slowly, crush the leaf and becomes crunchy. Is there a problem or is it natural at this time of year?

That is natural but not normal or desirable.
Dry curling leaves usually a sign of some pest or disease. Black peach aphids get onto newer leaves this time of year and cause them to curl and distort - spray. Less likely is nutrient deficiency. Dehydration could cause something like that as well.

Confidor/Naturasoap spray?
Could it also be a fungal disease?

Thrips can cause this too..... Open the leaves and have a look then treat accordingly.

There were nothing in the curled leaves except abit black inside and crunchy brown on the outside with some green leaf closer towards the sheath

I took some photos of the cherries in my orchard. That's a pretty severe attack but should give you an idea of what peach aphid damage looks like.

Similar the way it looks but its dark brown under the leaf when it surls. Should've taken a photo ealier, removed every single leaf that had it

Here is a photo. Note that the one that has flower currently was bought around Jan and had a problem like this and removed all the leaf.
A previous thread that i created, others said it was fine if I remember correctly.

This is a 2nd cherry that I bough around mid feb, was in good condition etc...but only had this problem for 2 weeks. Mum in her own mind decided to remove the leaf, I mean all of it.
What are you thought on the leaf condition, pest or a sign of autumn.
1 Trident maple is slowly getting going to brown but still have alot of green colour.

I don't think it is a pest but still does not look like natural autumn colour. Next possibility is a fungal problem - usually caused by leaves (or roots) staying too wet. You could try a fungicide but should also look at the position of the tree. Good air movement and as much direct sun as the tree can manage will help kill fungal problems.

So a open mix is ideal?

Was the tree just watered before you took the picture?

To me it looks WET!,

This may be the problem/cause of the leaf issue?

Hey buddy,

I have the same problem with cherry blossoms. None of my other trees suffer.

I've had now several cherry blossom trees and all exhibit the same pattern, be they young or old, when i get them they seem to just die.

Quite frustrating! But alas, with my track record on cherry blossoms I don't think I should give any advice.

Having said that, don't get the branches wet as this seems to kill them faster.

I water them the same as I always do. 3 times a week. Cause it was dry for one day with no water because i was busy that day and it was already turning into a crunch brown as shown in the picture.
Well the 2nd Cherry got all the leaves removed, now its a waiting game til they shoot a new leaf. My first cherry is already shooting flower/buds and 2 leaf.

They are flowering on my first cherry. buds are slowly maturing and bursting with colour.
Maybe cherry tree isn't suitable from where I live in NSW. Sun is 50/50 with the current season/time of day

I had the same, got flowers and some leaves and then gradual die back until the tree was gone.
