This is a field grown Chinese Maple. Was lifted in 2013 and all the branches were removed. I'm re-growing all the branches and waiting for the cut marks to heel. It will be in this Poly container for another 3 years or so before being transferred to a bonsai container. Some minot training having been done, mainly to control the fast growth.

Thanks Sammy

Yip, nice trunk. It has a bit of reverse taper as the objective was to thicken the trunk and at some points the mass of branches caused the trunk to thicken too much. I am working on the branches at the moment. I may have to put it back in the ground to see if the base will thicken further. I do however believe that with grafting of roots the base will expand and get the proportions right.

At the moment it can grow.

I created the post to keep tabs on the progression. I will post development as it starts taking form.

Happy with any suggestions on the way there.
