This is one of my favorite trees it is a Babingtonia virgata ( formerly Baeckea virgata ). It is in need of a new pot some thing a bit softer but not feminine.
A more sandy colour maybe. The measurements of the tree are Height is 320 mms, width is 320 mms, the trunk base is 55 mms.
This tree was collected from my neighbours yard in a make over about 8 years ago along with 2 others that were moved on. Unfortunately they are now defunct.
So if you can help I would be grateful

An oval pot not quite as deep would suit the gracefulness of the tree better. I have my Baeckea in a Mirkwood pot that is a soft blue high glaze with crazing but looks like ripples on a stream.

I know natives don't often do well in glazed pots but there are glazed pots and there are Mirkwood glazed pots. Keep your options open.

Something new now, formally Babingtonia, which was previously Baeckea. Dont you love the "splitters" in botany? Keep changing names. . . . . .

Nice Tree!

Hi Pup,
My only recommendation would be....Don't use the same pot I ultimately did......

After digging it out of our front garden, cutting it back from over one metre, and spending quite a few years of TLC... Of all the crazy things to try a new fertiliser on ..was my most treasured tree......it bl^%$#y died....

It was ceremoniously re-potted permanenetly into the big green plastic "pot" and is now compost in someones garden

Steve

It was a Babingtonia virgata also.

Incidentally, it was the one and only time I tried "cow manure" - never again....
As the good book says, vengeance is mine.....I doubly enjoy steak since that time

Hi Pup,

Thanks for the heads-up!
A very nice tree and I hope I've got a pot to do it justice. Tomorrow I'll take some photos and post the result.

Thank you Pat I look forward to it.

Steve. This tree has been re-potted at least 4 times, also had heavy root pruning. As with the one in my avatar.
I treat them both as I would any other native. No problems.

I like the darker pot with the tree. Very elegant.

Hi Pup.
Would either of these be suitable?

The first one is oval and the second is round.
