After many years of work I have finally potted this fig. I placed it on a rock 15 years ago. It needs a bit of work on the branching. Like to hear your thoughts as to what you would do with it.

Excellent roots on a good rock but I can't help thinking, based on the branch and trunk structure, we might be looking at the back of the tree? Can we see the other side please?

the canopy on the top left side needs to fill out so that it extends and merges with the first branch.
to me figs need a continous rounded canopy rather than individual clouds of foliage

Nice trunk

I would also lose those small roots crossing over or coming off the top-you'd get to see more rock and focus in the larger more fluid roots. Other than that-bloody beautiful

You are quite right in thinking that it is the back of the tree. I did style the tree with this as the back but the roots just did not look as good. If I could only twist the top of the tree around so the opposite side is the front :( . I will post a pic of the other side, let me know what you think.

My plan for this tree is to , as suggested by srini, remove the lower left branch, rewire the existing branches to come forward more and to develop some back branching to give more depth. I have never been very happy with tree but with a few more years work I think it will come together ok.Thanks everyone for your comments so far.
