Hello...Has anyone had experience with Rock Dust? It's available from the Diggers Club here in Vic. and sounds like a good adition for a top dress/orgainic fertilizer. It's expensive stuff but apparently is super rich in nutrients and bio elements..Any advice would be appreciated...cheers, Rob..

I have experimented a bit with it. It has amazing results in the garden. Hard to know what it does for bonsai but it doesn't seem to hurt.

Rock dust benefits plant because it contains the micro nutrients like molybdenum ( macro being P,K,N ). If you're using fresh soil there may not be a significant improvement and the micro nutrients added may increase the growth rate of new plant tissue which is counter productive to what you want in bonsai.

Don't waste your money. Much of the mineral content is only VERY slowly available if at all. A good fertilizer will see to all the plants needs.
