Wild fruiting trees... What to do?

Driving round the country side, I've now seen on some lonely verges and back roads a whole range of wild fruit trees, via their many blossoms.

Should i cut them 'lowish' now and get ready for the winter to lift them?

Is air layering the preferable way to go?

Should I be doing other things in these spring summer months to prepare them for lifting? :lost:

Cheers

Stew

any prospective yamadori should be pre-soaked---------- I have trunk chopped -dug a single hole under the tree and the tap root and other major roots-while trying not to disturb any small feeder roots-- refill and leave until winter--can be a hassle but every one has survived--just be sure of the species --------remember "the bigger the tree the sorer the back" :tu2:

Thanks Guy

Pre-soaked with just water?
