Here's a Callistemon I've had for some time now (about 12yrs) For the first few years of owning it, I did very little to it in the way of styling...not really knowing where to go with it. I then took it over to Pup's and he kindly gave me a few pointers. It got a major chop...and the first branch was bought up as the new leader. That was about 5 or 6 yrs ago now and some structure is finally starting to show. Never had it flower for me, so over the last 12 months I followed Pup's tutorial on pruning Callistemons. Well, this year I got 4 flowers...better than any year before, so thanks mate!
A couple of days ago it was pruned right back and repotted.
Although Pine-like in branch structure....when new growth starts it fills out nicely into more of a broadleaved tree silhouette.
Any/all comments welcome.
P.S When looking at this pic it's quite deceiving. Looks like it should be rotated more to the left...but in the flesh she looks alright.

Crossed roots are strictly a no-no... Stuff the rules, that's clearly a winner there!!! Beautiful little tree Banksia, even better it's a native!

Thanks guys! Not for sale sorry Bec. Right you are phoenix238 Although...they were like this when I initially bought the nursery stock. Basically they were set like that from the get go.
I've always liked the idea of having it Root over Rock. Somewhat like Tanuki, but instead hollow out some of the roots from the front and right side, to convincingly set a rock in place. Almost a cliché, but I haven't found the rock yet!.....then I have the problem of doing the hollow etc!

Nearly 2 months on now and she's filling in nicely. All I've been doing is eradicating ill placed buds and powerfeeds started a fortnight ago.
In a few weeks some shaping and wiring will take place. All in all, I'm pretty happy with it's regrowth.

Its a lovely little tree however I would be inclined to slowly fix the crossing roots.
