This is one of my stone pines in need of a prune, so next week it will get one. It is different to other two needle pines. You can cut with scissors.
That's what I like about them, but this one is getting too big for me, so I will be looking for a new home for it.

Good looking tree. I am amazed at the difference between the old and the new needle colour and size.Just as well I am on the other side of the country, as I would be lining up for it.

Hi Pup, Luke here, I have several pinus pinea that I have grown from seed, now two years old, all still with juvenile needles. Could you please tell me how old your pinus pinea are, when they started producing mature growth, and if you are aware, when they will no longer produce juvenile growth. Nice trees by the way. My own stone pines are planted both singly and as forest plantings.

Both of mine are roughly 20 years old always had mature needles just cut them of.
