Recently I went to a dig with the native bonsai club up near Seymour. We collected quite a few trees. This is a small tree I found and dug out myself.I thought it would make a nice bunjin/lateri, what do you think?

Yep.
Potentially.
Would be good to see a pic without hands in the way.
Can it be safely compressed/bent a little?

Wrapping with Raffia and wire they can be bent. Very carefully tho.
Not much else but literati with that trunk IMHO.
Pot up and let recover then look at it.

Thanks Boics, I thought it had potential too. I plan to bring the foliage back closer once it back buds and recovers. I may try bending it a little but it actually has more movement than it looks in the photos. Here are some photos with my hand out of the way

I think it's actually got a really nice lean trunk with some character.
Perhaps just cut back to the first branch during the growing season and see where buds pop?
Lovely pot too!
