Hi everyone,

I'm new to bonsai and I wanted to ask this forum for specific fertiliser names that I can purchase for my juniper. My juniper is about 5 years old if that helps. There is a great deal of useful fertiliser articles on the net but I'm looking for a specific name that I can find at my local nursery.

Ken's advice is good. I use all kinds of fertiliser from chook poo to blood and bone.

and of course charlie carp liquid fertiliser and osmocote mixed into the soil.

Thanks for the replies. After reading from the suggested link I wanted to know what is the difference between Osmocote and liquid fertiliser. It seems like everyone has three types of fertilisers that are used but I don't know what purpose each one serves hence the difference between Osmocote and liquid fertiliser.

The Osmacote is a slow release fert, so over a period of a cpl months the pellets will break down and release the nutrients. Liquid fert is absorbed right away.
