clump style

its about time i removed these little guys from there seed trays and pot them in to pots.. and that got me thinking could i clump them now??

You can put a clump together at any stage. If you plant your seedlings close together they will often unite where the trunks touch and become a single unit as they grow - but not always
The problem I find is regulating the size of the trunks. ideally you want the centre trunk to be the tallest and thickest but as they grow one or more of the side trunks will often grow faster and become the dominant trunk.

You can control the size of the outer trees by pruning them much more than the others.
I did that with my Liquidambar twin trunk here

they seeded at the same time and the smaller one was controlled by pruning

hmm think ill give it a shot. when i planted the seeds i plants some in groups of 2 and 3 most have worked out so far. ill tie the bases and repot them.
