everyone calls them mirror bush (the bigger leafed one)...

 i was thinking, maybe in the spring/summer i will defoliate

does anyone have experience on these or has snipped off the leaves or even have a technique to reduce leaf size :?:

ill post a couple of pics of a couple of my trees later 2day...

Hi,

I have never defoliated their leaves. But I found that trimming branches off
will later on produce smaller leaves. Also reducing water seems to do the trick
as well.

I have two that have their roots going to the ground, I cut off the branches
rather severely, now the leaves are about less half of what they were before.

Cheers.

There is a very exceptional one here in Victoria. The grower Defoliates it with great results.

Not being familiar with the name I Google it found http://www.hellohello.com.au/modern/coprosma.html seems you could grow it for the folage but your pics show just a plain green leaf?
Am I looking at the correct thing?
Also found this as one post mentioned Aust.native
http://www.rkm.com.au/PHOTOS/AUSTRALIAN ... index.html
looks a bit of a challenge.
Photos supplied are what species?

Mirror Bush (Coprosma repens) is native to NZ and considered a weed in most part of Australia.
I was told the Coprosma sold at nurseries are hybrids which do not self seed.
