Hi guys,

There is a grape vine in our garden which was there long before we moved in. Our neighbours have tried to kill it about two times now, at the moment it is a stump close to 10cm in diameter and about 6-7 cm above the ground. i have just noticed that it has sent out shoots again and i thought if they didnt want it i may as well dig it and pot it up. would it still be ok to do so especially since its already sent out long shoots?

If they are going to try to kill it again then sooner it's out of the ground the better. I imagine like any deciduous plant it'd best done when not it leaf/fruit but good aftercare should get you through.

I f you have to take it our now, but prefer to leave late winter.
If it is in Your garden, Why are the neighours trying to kill it? If you keep iot under control then none of their business.

yeah we live in a two storey house that has been separated into an apartment sort of arrangment, so we live on the top floor, neighbours on the bottom. neither my neighbours nor my parents want the vine, so i thought rather it be thrown out, ill keep.

for aftercare, its currently in a shady spot, so i would imagine placing it in a large pot with some potting mix, and lots of seasol and leaving it in a shady area?

If there is no other choice then, yes, go for it. Otherwise, Ken has given good advice.
