Hi. I just bought a juniper from the nursery. I remove about 1/4 of the old soil, leaving most of the roots intact, except the surface roots, as I wanna c how the nebari is like. Unfortunately tis tree was air layered, so there isn't any large roots. I intend to do a touniquet on it to enlarge the base of the trunk slightly n to eventually remove the unsightly base where the air layered is done. I have since repotted it in 100% akadama along with its original soil which contain the root ball. Is akadama ok to use here?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Tks :)

Hi Fongi,
Best approach is to post a few pics of the juniper.
You will get a better response that way :tu2:

The thing is... I forget to take picture while I was repottin :palm:
May have to remove all the soil to take a pic of the roots... but I was hopin not to disturb the roots any more. I am givin it water once every 2 days with a daily mist of seasol n water. I hope i m usin the correct pottin soil :palm:
