A rather large Japanese maple - 01

-- A rather large as in for me.
It is the run-of-the-mill common acer palmatum variety. I created from a layering then ground grown for several years. I just cannot remember how long it had been in the ground for. But at the time of layering, it was of decent trunk size.
It was dug up in the Winter of 2011; the following Spring and Summer were not too hot. It had a good run. But this Summer 2013, a lot of its leaves were killed off early due to the heat.

This photo was taken on 30/06/2013 -- two years after it was dug out. It is currently in a square box of about 38cm inside.
I am still thinking on how to style it! Generally, its roots are better than any the maples I have.
I have another one, a little bit bigger than this. Trunk is more powerful. Dug out in the Winter 2012. Suffer this Summer 2013. This later one was also layered from the same parent tree as this one.
