first time for this shimpaku

This Little shimpaku has been in my possession since i began bonsai, in fact it was my first plant i bought (besides my other ‘first tree’ which i killed too quickly to count). It was only a 2-4 year old starter plant and quite small so i left it to grow and thicken never really touching it apart from a pruning every few years and 2-3 repots. Due to the tree only ever being grown in small trainer pots for its whole life, the tree never grew as large as would have been hoped. The tree, now after about 8-10 years of growing since a seedling, was styled with a particular design in mind.

The tree was fully wired, placing the structure first and then fine wiring each branch and twig out to each foliage tip.

Wonderful work Hugh, Love the downward movement of the lower branches and stance of the tree as a whole.
