Reworked Juniper shimpaku

This Shimpaku was a workshop tree in July 2008 ( First photo). I wasn't happy with the result so it was neglected until now.
The right side was always to sparse, the lower right branch was to dominate and the trunk had very little taper.
I am hoping by bringing up the lower right branch I will fill in the right side better and also add some interest to the tree.
I will also be doing some carving of the main trunk to help to give it some taper.

Peter

Super! That foliage grown through years of neglect came in handy, didn't it? I call that sort of neglect "bonsai holiday" and the trees love it. Very nice result of re-styling! But just between you and me: don't you think that babe could do with a repotting? ;) Scuse if I am totally wrong.

:o 5 years of neglect in my backyard means Dead! So at least its alive!

I can see a nice small semi cascade tree with that first branch? A little small for your collection  , but a nice tree in there. I think the current tree is a little confused in direction?

Your right in saying that Scott and I will change it at some stage, but I am over cascade and semi cascade. A lot of my trees (mainly Junipers) are a cascade of some form.My intention with this tree was to avoid the easy fix a look at alternatives.
