Hi,

Just got back from Bonsai By The Harbour in Sydney. It was a good weekend full of great demos and discussions. I didn't get any pics.....forgot the camera! Did anyone else get along? Maybe had some piccies?

Clinton Nesci did some work on a fantastic juniper.....I have a friend who got some photos of it after he did some final refining, she will be sending me copies on CD, once I get it I will post them for you all.

Thats a very intresting tree I think it should be called Krama
I can't help but smile when I look at it. Looking forward to seeing it settle into it's new look.

There is so much movement, it looks like it is dancing. I'd love to see a before shot if there is one available!? Better still, I'd love to hear Clinton tell us about the demonstration and his vision for Juniper

And yes maybe clinton will give a description

Clinton did have a photo of the tree....a before + before shot. He had done a bit of work to the top of the tree before he started the demo. I was talking to Clinton on Sunday about photos of the tree, and he said that he is not very good with computers and technology, so I fear, firstly that he may not know how to scan the photo to put here, and secondly, that he may not spend alot of time on the internet in order to come and visit this forum. Maybe you could lend him a hand Ken.

I forgot my camera also. Got to Kempesy and saw a group of casurina I wanted a photo of, went for the camera and relised I had left it behind. one and a half hours each way back to get it was to far, so no photos. It was a very interesting seminar and the talk by the professional photographer was a great. I was supposed to put some photos of my demo up. I will now do a shortened version on the weekend and get some photos.

The ones I posted came from Clinton and he said on tuesday that was all he had.

You are right Leigh, Clinton is much better with Bonsai than Computers

I have 5 or 6 J. procumbens 'Nana' that are about this size and have been sitting around in grow bags for 3 years while I tried to figure out what to do with them. Clinton's tree has given me a bit of inspiration. Thanks!

Hey Ken,

It was not a "pre-demo" shot.......it was an old photo that he had brought along. He had done a bit of work to the top since the photo had been taken and prior to the demo. He had the photo there with him and passed it around whilst he was doing his demo.

Hi Everyone,

Just to set the record straight; Clinton's Juniper was not worked on the night before as implied. He said at the beginning it had a previous owner who is no longer with us. That he first started to style this neglected tree at an "Ideas Summit" probably two years ago. I saw that one too! That original demonstration was an equally good one as was this follow-up at the Harbour.

If you sit at a keyboard the rest of your natural… guess what? Your're going to miss a lot!

An excellent weekend, so many enthusiastic people actually made it there. Can they do it all again this weekend, please?

Never mind if you missed the Harbour, this years "Summit" approaches fast and with Peter Adams it should prove to be an event not to miss. Though I will not be accepting the label placed on attendees by another contributor earlier in the year.

My only suggestion to improve the Harbour, would be the use of some large moveable sound baffling boards to be placed around the noisy demos.

Great weekend, will definitely go again. AnneK
