A few years ago I bought this tree at an auction, just to play with and to see if I could learn anything about our beautiful native trees as bonsai. Although this is no world beater, it did win best native at the local bonsai society monthly meeting table show today. OK, so there was only one native, but a win is a win!!!!
The point of this post is to seek your opinions on which pot I should transplant this into. If you wouldn't mind offering an opinion I would appreciate it. The plan is to put this Australian native into an Australian made pot, and I have a few that are in contention. Sometime in the next week or two it will be re-potted.

I'm not too great at picking pots, but I like it with the square Pat Kennedy. Maybe a touch on the small side, but I think it works (without seeing the root system, whatever that's worth).

There are some really nice options there though. Can't wait to see which one you choose.

You will get a dozen different comments from various people on this forum about your pot selection. At the end of the day, its your tree and your work of art.
My view is I like the last pot. It is rugged and suits the tree.

I agree with Brian the last pot matches well with size, texture and colour of the tree

I like the last pot. The colour matches the colour of the bark. There is also enough colour in the pot to enhance the foliage.

As you mentioned, the cracked effect on the edge and wall match the texture of the bark and the colours of the pot seem to sit better with the colours in your tree rather than the Janet Saxby pot. In the photos there seems to be more grey/cream tones in the PK pot which blend better with the tree trunk. It's a very subtle difference. The texture on the pot may be too strong for the tree though.

Yep, i see this thread will help you make a decision I have to go with the mudlark pot. Reasons, room for optimum health but i think the bark and colouring of the pot go well together. Congrats on the win by the way, at least you didnt have to eliminate the opposition.

They all look bloody good to me, I wish I had a choice of all those beautiful pots , did you rob a bank Watto.
A little bit off subject but can a bottlebrush be repotted in Sydney this week.

Steven - yes I of course mean Janet Selby - many years ago I played squash against a very good player by the name of Janet Saxby so I am putting it down to a "Freudian" slip.
Thank you to all those who have posted an opinion as it is of course very helpful. I can reveal that I was leaning towards the crackle pot of Pat's, but today I realised that it just won't fit enough to ensure the health of the tree.
Another day or two or thinking now required.

I have now re-potted this bottlebrush and I did select the Mudlark Pottery pot, mostly for the reasons that Bodhi gave. I hope you like it and thanks for the thoughts.
