Collected English Elm. From "stump to...?
Posted: November 10th, 2012, 1:04 pm
Hi guys,
This tree is one of my collected English Elms from a dig back in July, and it is the one which is interesting me the most so far, so I thought I would post a progression from the original stump it was when collected, to what it is now, in just a few months.
Still a long way to go, but certainly coming along nicely.
I originally carved the top of the tree, then decided to experiment by using a set of jinning pliers to strip away the heartwood instead of smoothly carving it away, and am impressed with the result.
Any advice, criticism etc is welcome..
Cheers,
Steve.
