Ugly juniper

I have had this juniper for a while, but it has always bugged me, I think it is ugly. So thought get rid of it but the pot cost $90-00 wholesale 15 years ago, so I must have liked the tree once.
Juniperus foemina (American juniper)
Well I have talked about it for some time with mates but never decided what  :!: .

So today I bit the bullet and started to work it with absolutly no idea where it would end up. I did however take some pics, missed some also, but here is a pictorial of what I did, I stopped when I heard a crack will go back in about a month. I will put the process in words with the pics.

I hope it works and we can enjoy together Virtuals welcome. Cheers Pup

Thanks guys, there is still along way to go but even I have to have a challenge. It is more of a challenge, when you have not got a clue where your heading till you start.
Then it seems it was there all the time just needed a bent eye to see something.

It has now been 1 month since I started this overhaul, the tree has been growing well so I assume the crack I heard was not a major break.

So with some more heavy wire in place some more tweaking took place. Now to let it rest again for another month as it appeared to be very easy to bend in some parts that I thought would show some resistance :!: .

Any way here is today's bit of work, and as you can see by the back drop, it is as usual very Sunny here.

Just some differing angles to see which is best, a little bit more to go, but I think we will get there.

Cheers Pup :fc: :fc:

That is some serious bendage!

Its quirky. I like quirky abstracty trees. Nice!

Personally I thought the original had some great literati potential.

I do concur that the progression has made an improvement.

Nice work.

That was the original intention but never developed the way I was happy with so, you then try for improvement, which I think is happening.

Just have to see what happens.

It's good to see people taking bold steps in working marginal stock Pup. I am a firm believer than not enough of us do enough of this! I'll be keeping an eye on how this tree develops over time. I think you have made a definite improvement so far, and it will be interesting to see how you integrate the old trunk in with the new cut away trunk.
May the force be with you!
