Most likely Baeckea linifolia, to the top of the chops is under 8" with a trunk of just over 3".

It started life as a self sown seedling & was planted in the ground 4 yrs ago. I had 2 failed attempts to dig them again but finally got it right last yearviewtopic.php?f=6&t=9581. It was cut back hard about 2yrs ago & again earlier this year.

Its been out of the ground about 2wks & is not showing any signs of going backwards. If the last one is anything to go by I expect big things from this tree...

Thanks Ken, lots of options but I already have a rough idea in my head, recovery first, then cut all the branches off & start again :tu:

Chunky is doing well so today I removed the excess trunks, the ones left will be shortened once back budding starts in earnest.

The first branch on the right is actually a whole seperate tree thanks to adventitious roots while it was ground growing, on discovery it made easy to know where to shorten the remaining branches. All in all I am happy with its progress.
