This tree I won in a raffle , it was straight as a light pole. Sorry no before pics , but with a bike inner tube and 6 mm wire I put some movement into the trunk. I put it into a grow box and let it grow. I have put both my black pines into grow boxes and will be left for a few years as I am moving houses at the end of the year and I'm limited for space in the new house. These will stay at my folks house where they will be watered by my father and fed when I visit.
Anyone have any suggestions on doing anything else to them this year .

A very healthy pine. But the branches are a bit too long for my own liking. And they will pose problems later on.

I think you should think about addressing this ASAP, as it will be hard to get new shoots from old woods. The main challenge with JBP is to have shorter internodes and more secondary etc branches.

If I have re potted it just recently will it be too soon to cut it back to encourage it to back bud ?
Or should I wait till next year

If you want to encourage back budding, rather than girth, I'd cut back when others in your area usually decandle - say early-mid dec?

Prior to cut back, use liquid fert (some organic, not just inorganic) every week.
