I think Yew is classed as a conifer so guess it should be here with the Pines and Junipers?
Anyway the mother in law got me this for my birthday last year, well I heard she was looking for a present so I plonked this in front of her

I had no idea with Yew so figured it was a good choice to do the workshop with Marc.
Not sure I have a before pic but it was just a mass of foliage. I was the first to be told off for not clearing it out before the workshop

Marc had me keep more branches than needed but here is the first step. And the sketch of where he hopes it to be.
He kept saying it will be a very nice tree a very classical tree

I do not think ( or cannot remember ) actually seeing aYew in real life.
I love the drawing of where it should head How long till it gets there do you have any idea?

No I was hoping to get some more care details of Marc but never got around to it. When does he come back

Very nice bark/trunk texture on (what looks like) quite mature stock! How big is it? Should be a beauty to go forward with

Hi Ryan, the trunk is about 110mm across at the base and 400mm high. The bark on the yew are usually shown with the rough bark removed and the red bark underneath polished up like a juniper. I checked this with Marc and he agreed that is how he would show this tree.
