Collected fruit trees

So today was the day. After searching the property and finding a lot of useless trees we found some good materiel . Not sure of the species but I would guess some sort of plum.
The ground we saturated and every shovel of mud we removed s liter of water would appear .

The tree in the last picture is full of buds at the base.
Will put up some more photos after the come out of the seasol bath.

Ooh I hate diggin in Mud! Makes life hard and unpleasant.

I'm no expert but that doesn't look like any plum that I know. The ones in the background in the 2nd photo look good though! Its always a good way to spend a Sunday though isn't it? I hope they all survive for you.

Thanks Anthony for a good day, digging in mud is tough work!
We each came home with a clump an a single tree. Totally uncertain of species, probably prunis possibly malus, from an old orchard which looks to have been deserted for a few years, and much of it did not survive the drought years.
I got mine potted up this afternoon and now I wait to see what They turn out to be

Thanks Gerard for you help and wisdom, it was a good day and lucky we just beat the rain. I left mine in seasol until 9pm then went out in the cold of the night to pot it.
Finger crossed now.

Looks like its going great :tu: ive found trees collected this season seem to be doing a lot better then normal :D

So its a nice rainy day. Time to start repotting. Todays mission is to get this tree into a smaller pot and cut back . Fingers crossed.
