Anybody have a good article on aftercare?

Sorry Chris cant help with an article.

I know one thing, dont repot in windy weather and give protection from it for the first few weeks after.
I usually put my repotted trees in full sun straight away.

I re-potted some of my trees last weekend in not to bad weather, only to have a weeks worth of horrible, windy weather to follow

I almost always repot in windy weather. No choice in August it's almost always windy.

I would say aftercare is dependent on the severity of the root work, the species your dealing with and the time of year. For example if your doing evergreen or coniferous trees then they would need some shade during their recovery particularly because your more likely to work on this group during the warmer months. Deciduous tree can go straight out into the weather because they are not carrying foliage and its winter. Azalea, camellia or pieris would need to be in the shade much longer than say ficus or banksia
Too much water is a really common problem.

Come on now Craig, you're being logical....

I've always kept everything, deciduous included, in shade after repotting, but yes, it doesn't make any sense at all. And warmth on the roots should start things moving a bit quicker. So out in the sun they go tomorrow.
