Hey guys I recently picked up this little bonsai starter - he was already wired & im just wondering what kind of tree he is as i have no idea!

It's a bit hard to tell the size from the pic's, but it looks like a Gardenia radicans to me. :imo:

The shiny leaves look like gardenia unless they are wet. One of the leaves looks as though it might have lace bug damage, in which case it would be an azalea. Let's see a better pic.

I don't think the trunk and bark look like azalea. Clearer pics with some scale and right way up would help.

thanks guys sorry about the crappy pics. its too dark now to get a picture any better than these ones so ill post some new ones tomorrow - also should i be worried about this lace bug leaf damage?

Only if it is an azalea..... and only if it is lace bug damage.... Lets wait for the new pics and see what we can see.
