Hi anttal,

I like the way you have shaped this tree. It reminds me of the drawings in the book An Introduction to Bonsai by Bonsai Kai Society which I mention because those are the trees that I aspire to create.

How flexible was the tree when you first started shaping it?

Cheers,

Brad75.

I was looking at mine the other day and will repot them this year.
I have 2 in the ground ( 1 year) and 5 all together in a Poly box.

Where have you kept yours? Pot or ground?

Ken

Yes Jow its pretty impressive thanks for our discussions !

Brad these were $5 cuttings and extremely supple and flexible. Even at this age they are bendable you just got to do it in stages. Even when supported by wire, raffia etc, it is wise to tighten your bends in stages. Some ten minute intervals some the next day. The thing is to give the fibres a chance to adjust to their new positions b4 pushing the envelope too far ! ;)

Bilal cork screw i callm. The tree will not use all of the current trunk line. The tree will eventually re build at the 2/3 point of height and the remaining corkscrew will become deadwood. I am yet to cork screw the branches as well. Some for foliage, some for deadwood. Lots to do still !!! :crikey: :tu:

Ken, originally it was in a small plastic pot after wiring and bare rooting, in order to bend it all the way down to the roots. 6 mnths later i slipped it into this terracotta bowl, today is the first repot since. there is an idea of the whips cut off the sacrafices. :tu:

No mames !!! They have not been cut off only shortened. Just want to refresh and back bud for branch and jin options and allowing an even keel of energy again. Then the juggle starts again. :tu:
