These are some 18 month old Japanese Black Pine seedlings that I wired today. In 40 years the grand kids might want one
Next year I would like to put some of them on rocks but I just need to find the right rock.

once there in the ground they grow quick. I have a dozen started from seed which have spent 2 years in my grow beds (1 year in pot before that) ill take pics in the next few weeks when i tidy my beds up. they are about 1 metre tall atm and 1-1.5 inches at base from wiring and scaring.

Don't forget to let some sacrifice grow...

thats exactly how i grow mt pines except i try to get a few low (ground level sacrifice branches going too) the scars do take time to heal over but they will eventually, pics during the week

Mat they were in a grow bed but I have had to pot them up as my house is on the market. So if and when we move to a bigger block they will go back in the grow bed.

I've been luck enough to have a seed source that gives excellent strike rates. But I didn't collect this year - I already have too many!

Nice work Andrew! I have been wanting to get some similar sized ones for a while. The same size and even a smidge bigger as well. As many as I can I want to do the EXACT same thing!! Hook a brother up
