Ash in Adelaide

Was out today near bridgeway hotel where I often collect olive and ash and notice that there is a lot of bonsai suitable ash that have been cut down just to a small stump. I'm guessing that someone else who also collects trees from this area is preparing them for collection in spring. I'm just wondering is that person a member on this site? Cause I have my eye on some of the ones that have been chopped.

poaching of wild stock what are the accepted ethics on that if some one has indeed done it for that perpose and their is alot .... well to me they shouldnt be so greedy

but they may be expecting someone like you to come along or not all of them to live... but hay I'm only a newbie who lives a few states away see to me its what does your gut tell you if it says take it make sure your their before them in spring. If you want 1 in particular and it could do with a little shaping before spring maybe spare some wire and do it see if tehy then feel bad if they get their before you in spring and leave it for you... worth a shot or not choice is yours.

If you are unsure, Put a tag on the tree with your phone number and see if anyone calls in a few months or so.
If no one calls then maybe consider digging them then late winter.
