The jin around the apex looks like a crown of thorns. Great work.
If you dont like these Juni's ill gladly take that one off your hands

Hi John Henry , i like the intricate detailed movement in the jins . I don't think we see enough of this type of work here in Aus .I look forward to taking to the few Sabina's and Shimpaku Juni's i have been training for a few years myself , need a few posts like this to get a bloke motivated .Thanks for posting .
Cheers Alpineart

could be the photo -but this looks messy and needs to be simplified--I'm finding it difficult to see the 'tree' in this

Messy? More like complexity! Great tree. Low foliage pad could extend a bit or maybe it's the angle of the shot? Either way love it and the dead wood

if this were my tree John, i'd be keeping the lower trunk jins fairly short or get rid of them , this trunk needs to be seen . At present the beautiful shari on the trunk is being obscured by jin, i most likely would remove most if not all the top jin and/or rework them , they to me are very distracting . Nice stock

G,day John, are you going to Mornington this month to do a workshop. This tree would be nice.
Pity we cant bring them to WA, or I could bring a Mel for trade
