Hi Goff you could do a small formal upright from this tree

to get the shoot to be in the right place i would leave a shoot to grow a bit then do a thread graft you can google this it will show you how to do it ,can be very handy to no how to do

.
picture below of a quick design
Red arrow show where you would thread the shoot threw after drilling the hole in the trunk.

It already has great movement, why would you then want to chop this and create a formal upright? surely that defeats the purpose of why Goff picked this tree to begin with??

Yep, a slight tilt to the left when repotting, wire up all branches, sit back and assess. A pretty effortless tree to work with

Not going to chop this one. Just like some thoughts about branch placement. The mesh is there because pigeons keep resting in dirt and then digging up the dirt. No idea why???

Goff, this is potentially a great little olive, much better than the columns we see so often. We need pics a minimum of 800x800 pixels to even begin to hang a decent set of virtual branches on it. Even better if we could get the tree from a few different angles. If you get stuck on how to upload pics at a decent size, I'm sure there are plenty of mods and boffins on this forum that can help.
Cheers,
Mojo

Goff the size is ok ,however you need to take better picture mate. If you search some of my posts and take a look at the angles the pic are taken, that is how they should be taken . pics of more than one side are also of benefit . the viewing angle is very important to make good virts.. Also your pic could be taken in more light if possible. sorry if thats not what you wanted to hear but

, thats how it is ,,
