on the advice of Grant and Leigh i cut the top 50% off this tree late last winter i have just allowed the new leader to grow while maintaining the lower branches.im defianly glad i did as the top always gave me the poos . hopefully in several years it will turn out nice

^Agreed, looks like a little boss of a tree. It's going to have a lot of character and movement when it does get older I reckon too.
What are you planning on doing with the tree matthew? keep it shohin

It's going to have a lot of character and movement when it does get older I reckon too.

Great work matt you have yourself a great tree on the way now. Such a simple philosophy creates far better trees. The tree is the perfect height now, just keep cranking that leader from side to side to form an apex and this tree is ready for show !!! B4 you know it.
