Hi everyone. I just recently bought a grevillea olivacea
I trimmed the roots made my cuts, mixed up the soil and dosed it with NPK fertiliser
Now the leaves and becoming white, hard and curling in on themselves
Have I over done the fertile or root cutting?
And suggestions much appreciated

Just guessing but I reckon you should have left the fertilising till it was established. Might be a gonner by the sound of it. If you put up some pics we might be able to give better advice.

Hi natives are sensitive to "P" as in phosphorus in fertilisers. A fertiliser with a "P" below 4.4 is good as in Yates fruit and flower.
It is also advisable not to fertilise, till the tree becomes re established after re-potting and root pruning.
I like Rowan feel this one may be a gonner.
Cheers Pup

I've killed some grevillea by being to rough with the roots, but the stress turned the leaves brown. I think it may have been the P that cause the problem, grevillea are very sensitive to phosphorus because they use microbes in there roots to generate usable phosphate in the poor soil they naturally grow in.
I hope your not too discouraged to try again if it turns out to be the case and it doesn't make it.

Hi guys. Thanks alot for the feedback
I'll plant in natural soil out of pot tomorrow and see if I can save it. Luckily the saplings are only $3 or so
And yes I will keep trying. Good to find this out an try again
