I was working on this group planting of Chaemycyparis which needed a serious tidy up and weeding when i stood back to observe the work and..it seemed familiar. It reminded me of a stand of Euc's off in the distance. What do you think? Am i dreaming.

Not dreaming, just visualising.

With a bit more spread between the bases, and I see where your looking.

Hi,

We have a group of shimpaku at the collection that evokes the feel of a eucalypt forest as well.

It is one we are recovering from having stretched too much over many years and we are currently reworking it but keeping the original feel of the group.

Our gums are so unique in many ways but also much more similar in bonsai than I think has been documented. This has a very natural Australian feel in the small pic but pity the foliage doesn't match.
I would call this a twenty footer gum group. Any closer and the foliage gives it away ;)
I reckon this will be a ripper once it settles into the design :tu:

A lovely group with a Eucalyptusesque silhouette :tu:

I think a rock outcrop in the pot would really add to the authenticity of the image.
