Melaleuca cuttings, how long?

I planted a few melaleuca cuttings just over a month ago, i got sent the branch in the post and it was slightly dry and starting to lose leaves so wasnt really expecting much. Anyway i did half the cuttings in honey and half with purple rooting hormone, all in a plastic tent. A month on and a couple have died off but the remaining ones are still green but no new growth. At least one seems to have rooted. How long should it take to see some new growth? Should i keep them in the tent untill i see new shoots?

i dont think there anything overly special about these compared to some of the readily available mels looks wise but its a very important species in the natural history of the lord howe island stick insect which i breed which is my reason for wanting this species so desperately

Hornet, mate,
how did you get hold of this insect, were you one of the entermologists that found them on Lord howard. And how long have you been breeding them then.
