This is my first attempt at Bonsai ever. I spent a few hours at the nursery looking around and finally decided on this potted Juniper to be my new friend. a few hours of work and repotting, and this is the start.

Anyone with feedback or dos/donts let me know, like I said, I am new and just kind of went with what they told me at the nursery.

Hi Sharpevader
Welcome to the forums. First rule - never cut any branches down low unless you are absolutely sure you don't need them. You need some branches at the rear to give it depth - at the moment it is very 2 dimensional. Also the branches are a bit like climbing pegs on a telegraph pole - they are 2 evenly spaced and look a bit contrived. The trick with bonsia is to manipulate the tree but make look like it hasn't been touched. Peruse the forums and you will learn a great deal.

Welcome s.e. Nice try first up and Bougy gave good advice. For mine, the tree is in the first two branches but you will learn this as you go. Keep its progress recorded, it will be invaluable later on.
