I don't know of any that is thick, why do you want it thick?
You could just mix flour in with it, if you want it to hold the cakes together?

i could, but thick may also mean more concentrated. I say MAY because it would depend on percentage of fish solids.
just trying to reasearch the best option, if i cant find a thick one i will use the most concentrated, and that is another question in itself.

Perhaps leave some in a low and wide container to evaporate on a hot day? Make sure it's far away from anybodies house though!

Thats what i would suggest. found one at beginning of the year left in the back of the shed for over 12years or so.Was like one big cake. Never thought to make cakes out of it.

There is Fish emulsion and then there is Fish hydrolysate.
Those who make it at least say it is much better than fish emulsion as it is the complete fish with no oils and such removed.
I have never found any locally to buy so can't say how thick it is but it might be worth looking into or maybe make your own

leaving it to evaporate is a good idea but im looking not only for a thick fish emulsion, but also concentrated, i.e. bang for my buck. so evaporating it is not really meeting the criteria.
Fish hydrolysate hey, might have a look. thanks bretts
