The next one I haven’t done anything to this year . It can join the class and if it can survive this weeks weather of wind , snow and frost without any damage it may even get a good report card . It’s a Crab Apple . It’s a bit of a beast , but when it’s in flower it’s a real beauty . It flowers heavy every second year .

That white flowering quince is beautiful Sno, I love the shape of the tree and the pot together.

Continues to be one of my favourite threads. Love these latest updates. Left field idea the ‘look after the tree’ rebate too

; underpinned by trust across all parties to such a transaction. Indeed, much of your collection seems to be ‘left-field’ Sno ... and that’s a compliment in case you’re wondering.

The start of a snowy night . These two are coming inside tonight because they need a bit of protection . It’s going to get cold , -5 probably with up-to 20 cm of snow . They just got a dusting to cool them down .

Ahhh, so that's what a Wisteria looks like just before it comes into flower!
Hope the snow doesn't do any damage Sno!

Thanks Mel , it lost a couple of flowers more due to the wind .
Here are some more preview shots of the Wisteria to show the structure before the flower curtain comes down at the main event .

It seems to be a common story with Wisteria ,last year I had it in my neighbours glasshouse and a mouse ate all of the flower buds .

It also lost two of its main branches in a wind storm over summer .

The climate up here is not really suitable for this variety ( Chinese ) and without winter protection it won’t flower . I take it out of its winter protection as its budding up to display it on the back patio and then shuffle in and out side while it’s flowering for the next few weeks .
I didn’t repot this year because when it lost the two branches it was ripped out of the pot
( I wire every tree securely to the pot ) and I found it blowing around the back yard .

Wow, that's going to be magnificent Sno! Mine are all leaves and no buds at all, that I can see. I believe mine is also Chinese Wisteria. :/
It was good luck that the container didn't break when the tree was blown around! Wow!
