great progress made on this one jamie can see where your going. I wonder if any trees are safe

the "v" cut you made, wat does that do? is it more beneficial then just straight cutting it?

thanks for the compliments and no, not many trees are safe! especially when the saw is close by! the V cut was made soon after I had shoots to figure out where I could go, what it will do in time when it heals over will look a little more natural and will flow a lot more.

here is a couple of examples of that which has been done similar.
one day the celtis will have some nice ramification!

thanks Andrew I should of got a pic of the tree as of today, it is full of new leaves and is really filling up, but its still got a long, long way to go. for around 10-11 months work its coming along nicely though, especially considering it hasnt skipped a beat as it was collected on 31st of december 2009 and work was started on it very early as it responded so well. getting somethings sorted out early in a trees progression is one thing I beleive that is key. I like to do it this way as if I hold out then I will look at the tree and possibly pick up faults that annoy me which would take a lot to rectify.

Hi Jamie, I like the way this tree is developing and as it has been a while since you posted, I was hoping you could please update and show where the Celtis is at now?
Has the V-cut continued to reoll over?...are the branches thickening up?...are you starting on building the ramification?
