Re: Win a Masterclass with Kunio Kobayashi & Ryan Neil
Congratulations Ryan, the photo with the city in the background was a bit special too! You are in for a couple of busy days but don’t put the camera away.
Thanks Steven for your generosity and vision, I have taken over a thousand ‘portrait shots’ of bonsai which are important for records but are a bit like people portraits which are posed and somehow lack a spark of life. We try so hard to make our trees natural and then set them in a pose for a photo, it has been a lot of fun trying to show things as they are.
Someone should start a post ‘Arty Farty Photos’ (thanks Mel) it might run forever
I liked the 3 point display by Kez (great colours)
We learned that Mark has bonsai for breakfast.
And I am sure Watto’s size 10’s made everybody smile.

Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.

Yay Ryceman!!! Congrats!
Have a great weekend!
Thanks for getting me motivated again Steven, I'm starting to look at picking the camera up a bit more often! Well done everyone who entered!
Guess I'd better start thinking about an arty farty post too, ta Gerard!

Thanks to all for your congratulations, I'm pretty excited/nervous/whatever - never done a workshop before.
Right now I'm madly packing before I get ready to say those two magic words ...
ROAD TRIP!

Re: Win a Masterclass with Kunio Kobayashi & Ryan Neil
Had a massive day at the first workshop with Kunio Kobayashi... so much fun and bonsai talk with fellow tragics combined with the teachings of Mr Kobayashi made the day just fantastic. Many thanks to all who came up and congratulated me on my win, I enjoyed meeting you all. It was great to hang out next to dansai for the workshop, and thanks for letting me wrestle with your juniper - who knew it would end up on the angle it did!
Nice to meet pjames too, also doing some great stuff in the workshop!
Looking forward to the next few days ... still feels a bit surreal. Photos will follow when I get back to Melbourne and can hopefully put together some that do justice to the event.
Can’t thank Ausbonsai and Steven enough for a wonderful opportunity, I’m enjoying it immensely!
