One more from me. This tree has many stories and Inhale posted about them before. It a Fig, most probably Moreton Bay, and is one of my first trees. I usually don't use ornaments in my Bonsai, however this one had the statue of Guanyin placed in it when my youngest daughters little brother (not my son) was seriously ill and was airlifted to John Hunter hospital to undergo life saving surgery. We lit some candles around it and found out a couple of hours that he had come out of surgery and was recovering well. She has stayed there ever since.

I really enjoyed looking at everyone's beautiful trees last year, so figure I'd better contribute. Pretty much my only tree that could be called a bonsai and very ordinary in this company, but I like it!

That’s an awesome tree Redsonic. Definitely worthy of standing amongst all the excellent trees posted.

This thread gets better and better. Great stuff. I’m just going to echo everything Mel just said - so to keep it succinct - +1 Mel.

I particularly love the Hugh’s Allo, Gerard’s Melaleuca and Dansai’s wonderful story. Great stuff.

Thanks for the contributions everyone. I’m blown away by the caliber of trees on this thread. Aussie style is alive and well. I hope you agree.

I am away this weekend so will get a poll underway next week.

Cheers

Hey PaulW. I’ve asked for this feature before. Fingers crossed. Doesn’t hurt to make a quick comment though. Far more engaging

Brilliant thread this. Now.... bringing the bar back down to beginners level....

Embarrassed on a number of levels - hardly a bonsai and I can’t remember the bl@@dy name of the tree!!

It is a lovely Murrumbung Studios pot though - even if the tree is crud.

Happy Aus Day holiday Monday folks.
