Congratulations everyone, all very nice trees. Onya Pup. A worthy winner...and a West Aussie. I must admit I thought Daves Banksia was going to get it.

Cheers!
Anthony

Well done and congratulations to you all! Is this going to be an annual event? If so, the rest of us should get moving now.
Penny.

Thanks Ausbonsai.com! I got the third place finish, which is great. I thought the 4th place finisher was the best in my book, but then again, I am not an Aussie and I am not familiar with how these trees actually looked in real life . Congratulations to everyone.
Thanks Antonio for introducing me to this place and this contest. The contest wasn't important to me. It was just a nice opportunity to show my tree and to make some new friends. I was hoping to see more bonsais like some giant Port Jackson figs though.
Steve, you should do the contest again in a few years. The logo tree should be changed every once in a while anyway.
Thanks again!
Si

Thank you everyone for your comments. As Steven said, this has been our first competition so obviously there has been many lessons learnt and in particular I would like to expand on Si Van Nguyens comments (I hope you dont mind)
I thought the 4th place finisher was the best in my book
Judging is not an easy task as people see things in different perspective and have different likes and dislikes and keeping personal feelings out of judging is a difficult task. Reading Sis' comments above leads me to believe that their should be a 'Peoples Choice' award included in the next comp.

Excellent attitude mate and I'm sure that we would have liked more entries as well.
Steve, you should do the contest again in a few years.
For sure we should have more competitions but I believe that this one should become an annual event and we should look for a sponsor and get it out there in Australia. We will also have to improve our Photographic skills or pay someone to take the photo for the competition and in order to make this viable it might be necessary to make the sponsor make the prize pool a little more interesting.

Just my thoughts and interesting to hear others opinions.

Jon
