Red gum. Needs a lot my work done to create some interest in the canopy

Agnosis flexuosa Western Aussie's peppermint tree. A beginning triple trunk (one day) in training for a very short while and first ever Bonsai pot.

One from me .
Leptospermum laevigatum . It's on local stone .

How fabulous is this thread! Squizzy thanks for starting it, I'm really enjoying seeing the effort so many are putting into growing native trees as bonsai!

Here's my little mulga, - it's not fit for showing, but just for the occasion...
Last year was it's first in a bonsai pot - it hated it and barely grew. This year I've put a 1cm layer of pure pumice in the bottom, and it seems to be happier - I'll let it grow wild for a season, then think about what the hell I want with it. It will cut back to about 20cms. It was happy and resilient in an 8" black pot, but I'm not surprised that a desert tree might be picky about drainage.

Here's it's base - I'm happy.
And finally, some Melaleuca branches in the wild, just to think about.

Well I’ve only really had a chance just now to see today’s additions. What a great display for all sorts of levels and styles. Please add more if you feel like it.

I will speak to the boss about setting up a voting post. It may not get up tonight sorry.

Thanks again for all who contributed. For those that said they had trees not quite ready, we might make it an annual thing so you can get prepared. What does everyone think?

Australia Day! Just made it.

This is a Callitris grown from seed collected in the Flinders Ranges about 15 years ago. It's also my only Formal Upright. Sorry I didn't get a chance to clean up the tree or pot but the light is fading fast...

Hello all.

As I mentioned in the other thread unfortunately I was too late but thought to contribute to this wonderful initiative anyway.

1st: Lemon Scented Teatree. 2nd: Old man Banksia. 3rd: Prickly-leaved paperbark 4th: Lepto "Starry Night" 5th: Crimson Kunzea All tree's are probably under 30cm in height with the Prickly Paperbark around 10cm from tip of the pot.
No work was done before photo's so not at their best but hopefully worthwhile if even to show a few species not mentioned in this thread yet.
